| Subject: Question about Ventrilo Voice Codecs Sat Jan 26, 2008 7:57 am | |
| For those of you who know Ventrilo pretty well (like Baka), I have a question about the Voice Codecs. I notice some people cause the rest to "lag" and hear eachother a couple seconds after we initially talk. This is very distracting, at least for me. Also a minority of people sound very very clear and some people sound very "tinny" or distant. Should I leave the Codecs as default or try changing them to see if we get better results? I have left them default so far. The images below show what those defaults are and all the other Codecs to choose from. Any help is much appreciated. This is what the Main Channel defaulted to when I set the server up: https://2img.net/h/i93.photobucket.com/albums/l49/jeremyaball/MS/Codecoptions.gifAnd this is what any Extra Channels default to: https://2img.net/h/i93.photobucket.com/albums/l49/jeremyaball/MS/Codecoptions2.gif

| Haha, try changing the Codecs it makes people sound smexier don't know if it would fix the lag. Vent lags for some people for others it perfectly normal. Some different type of vent servers are better then others, depends what site you buy it from . | |
