Request HELP with Video Capturing Software

Please give me suggestions & share your knowledge here.

I've tried using FRAPS and it lags REALLY bad. I was told it's because my RAM is only 1G on my Dell Dimension 2350 Desktop (I run XP Home).
Someone told me that both MS and FRAPS uses about 500MB of RAM each, is this true.

What can I use to make Maple Vids ingame.
I scared the bejesus out of myself a couple weeks ago when I tried one program that required you to load MS through it's software. Of course, when I started MS it kicked me out with a "Hacking Detection" error. I thought that was it for DiscipleSin. I immediately cleared all cache/cookies/temp files and ReBooted. Thank GOD everything was ok!

PLZ HELP me with suggestions on software, configurations, whatever...

If you DO find a way to get FRAPS working well, MAKE SURE YOU CONVERT THE FILES! It records in avi format. About 20 minutes of footage took up almost 200 gigs. When changed to mpeg, it took up CONSIDERABLY less room; we're talking going from gigs to megs.

free fraps are 30 seconds. it crappy if u try to make a movie with windows movie maker
