I tried to download the new patch v0.80 but it thought it was a virus, so the last 2 days i have tryed to reinstall it... but my auntie is 100% sure that maplestory is a VIRUS!!!! (that means she keeps closing the downloads... which is making me mad) i am tryin my best to get the game reinstalled... but... this is just stupid. why does AVG think maplestory is a virus?

upgrade to 9.0 avg. faster way to do this is uninstall the old avg and go install the new one then tell it to ignore maplestory

You may want to show your aunt this formal notice from Nexon about the AVG issue: click here
If the issue isn't resolved by updating AVG, add maplestory folder to "exceptions" in AVG options.

It has something to do with an anti hacking thing Nexon recently implemented so that the code couldn't be edited or like stopping people from looking at the code if I remember right. Anyways that security looks to AVG like a possibly threat since it blocks anything from messing with it. I probably don't have it all right, but that is kind of the basic idea.

Open up AVG -> Tools -> Advanced Settings -> PUP Exceptions -> Maplestory.exe
