I feel butterflies

I feel butterflies.

Such a strange feeling it is, when you’re in love. It’s not strange in a bad way, though to some, it may be mistaken that way. The feeling itself it hard to explain. It starts in the very bottom of your stomach, a light, almost fluttering feeling, as if you were on a rollercoaster ride, and you just crested the top of the rise. Then it moves up into your chest. It builds upon itself to a point where that weightlessness suddenly becomes a heavy pressure. It’s not a bad feeling though. It feels like a hug, but from the inside out, as if your heart is trying to reach out and touch the one that it making it beat so fast. The feeling doesn’t stop there, however. It continues to move up, pushing your heart into your throat. You can’t breath, you can barely speak…all you can do is smile. Then the butterflies—those that rose from the pit of your stomach and pushed your heart into your throat—keep flying higher, and higher, and higher, all along pushing your heart up, and up, and up, while all the while your heart is trying to reach out through the walls of your body and embrace the one closest to you, and it keeps trying as the butterflies keep pushing until at the very end…your heart passes from your body into theirs…and you softly whisper “please don’t break it” as you pull your lips away.
