Well, today I was KSed out of a Hoodoos channel, channel 13 to be exact.

But it was much more than that, and it makes me incredibaly sad what happened today, July 10th, 2008 at approx. 3:30 P.M. PST.

To set the scene:

I come back from AFK of course in Ch. 13, FM 18. At 83%, I thought I might be able to level up, so I go to the haunted house to see if I can find an open channel. I go to the Voodoos map (it comes up first) and it is full, so I move on. As I go up the rope to get to the next level of the map, I see a girl (character, I don't know about in real life, no offense, so I'm keeping the person as a girl) with the IGN "Lauren26" of the guild "Escapade". As soon as I passed by, she got off the rope and raced me to, which I knew by now, the Hoodoos room. As you all know, there is only one Voodoos room and one Hoodoos room in each channel. I entered the map, and saw myself drop and hit the floor first. I don't know what she saw, but that's what I saw. Neither of us said anything. I was killing the Hoodoos, but so was she, as she is a level 75 (I think lukless) priest and does WAAAYYY more damage to them than I do. Still neither of us said anything. Eventually, one of us said something (I do not remember who it was, and I do not have a screenshot of the first words spoken). I politely asked her to leave, and we discovered that we both thought we had gotten there first. That's where the trouble began. Instead of solving the problem like civilized people, we argued. (Not smart on my part, but please note that I think I had gotten there first). Not ONE TIME did she ask me to leave the map. Not ONCE. All of a sudden, a level 124 Arch Mage (I/L) comes into the map. His IGN was "EmoReviver" and he is a member of the guild "FENIXLEGION". He started using the 4th job attack (I forget the name, but it's the one like Genesis) and easily killed every Hoodoo, every time, in one hit. I stayed in the map and tried to talk to him. Of course, he spouts things like "I could KS you all day" and "Why did you KS her" Pretty soon, I discovered that she was his "BFF" as he put it. Eventually, knowing that even if I healed I didn't hit the Hoodoos ever, I left the map, took a screen shot, and went AFK to paste it onto paint. (Which is what I usually do). I was planning on alerting the guild leader of "Escapade" of this terrible predicament. When I came back, I saw many members of the guild "Escapade" all saying insults (As shown on SS's) and other comments such as calling me a KSer. Their IGNs are: "HuntStars", "SwiftxSin", and I belive "ShadowDits". At this moment in time, I thought it would be over. I never thought that the girl would tell her whole guild and her "BFF" that I was a KSER! Heck, she didn't even tell me that she thought I was KSing her!! And HOW COULD I even KS her? She ADMITTED HERSELF that she was KSing me. I tried to say nice things to them, and tried to tell them what had happened. Finally, "EmoReviver" sounds like he has accepted reason. He says that it's her channel now that I left. Of course it is! Isn't that the law of MS now? And of course I would never go back in, because I know she's in there and I DON'T (and CAN'T) KS. So I'm glad, everything seems to be working out! (Even though the whole situation makes me sad) But then, he tells me to cc. I say no, I wanted to go AFK and just sit on the rope. How is that so bad? But it's not good enough for him. (BTW, this "him" is still "EmoReviver") He starts saying, GTFO (You guys know what it means and I don't say OR write profanities) and even tells me to "Die". Crying or Very sad

I said, "I don't have to if I don't want to" and he says "I can stay here until you log off", which is perfectly okay with me. I didn't want to bother him anymore and I am actually GLAD that he is the kind of person who wants to protect his friends. Still, the insults continue while I go AFK. When I get back on, I see that "EmoReviver" told "HuntStars" that he posted me on his guild's blacklist for "KSing". I told him that we already established that I was NOT KSing. He says "IDC (I don't care) you're still a KSer to me". I apologized, saying sorry if it appeared that I was KSing and he FINALLY, FINALLY, acknowledges that, and starts being kind all of a sudden. Still, he tells me to CC, this time actually saying please. So, I kindly oblige, but go to our hideout instead. I told him where I would be and he seemed okay with it.

So now onto my main point. Why am I posting this on our guild website if the situation is over? The reason is that I am deeply concerned about what this could do to our guild's reputation if I have been deemed by another guild as a KSer. So I have a few things to say:

First off, to the two main people that were also a part of this conflict: "EmoReviver" and "Lauren26". I am deeply sorry if it looked as if I was KSing, and I want to assure you both that I was not. I had no awareness that you thought I was either. You didn't tell me to "CC" or even that you thought you were there first. That, I feel, was your mistake Lauren. Next, "EmoReviver". I am glad that in the end things worked out, but I would like you to please remove from your Guild BBS that I am a KSer. The other members of Aeons have worked too long and too hard to have their reputation tarnished by a simple misunderstanding. Your mistake, I feel, is that you carried it too far. Why all the insults? I never insulted you.

Next, I would like to acknowledge what I feel I did wrong in this situation. Instead of CCing, I stayed on the channel. Instead of backing down, I fought back (without profanities, of course). Instead of being passive, I tried to be assertive. That's the right thing to do, right? I wasn't agressive, but I tried to fix the problem. That may have been the wrong choice, I don't know. But what's done is done, and I cannot change what I did.

Finally, I would like to ask Kat, IGN "Katsuzie" or someone else, familiar with things that I myself do not know of, to help me fix my dilemma. First off, I am wondering if this sort of thing could be posted on a website that is more frequently than this, such as Bellardia. I may post this on Basilmarket.com, but I would like your (guildmembers) feedback first. I want to fix the problem but don't want to take any risks. Also, I would love it if someone could tell the guild leader of both "Escapade" and "FENIXLEGION" about this misunderstanding. I have no idea who either of them are.

To wrap up this thread, I am going to post several screen shots of conversations that happened. I have outlined my key points in red rectangles so that you don't have to read all of that (of course, you've already read all of this, for which I applaud you fervently). Sorry, I just noticed that I didn't outline key parts in the first one. :smiley51: I'll just describe it.

Okie dokies, here goes, the first screen shot. The words were from when I was still in the Hoodoos map.

Key points are: "I KS you all day", Lauren26 calling me a hoe (which I find very rude, as I said), and the other important point that I made. He says that I KSed her, but he wasn't there. He couldn't know and he only took her side of the story as the truth.

Things that I did wrong that you can see in this screen: I may have sounded VERY sarcastic when I said "I can't wait to tell your guild leader" and I am sorry about that. Also, I very sarcastically said that "EmoReviver" isn't God. Sorry about that, it was horribly rude of me.

Key points are: She admits to leaving the room. She also admits that she is KSing me. Also note that at the very bottom of the screen "EmoReviver" has arrived and the first thing he says is "GTFO Out"

Things that I did wrong that you can see in this screen: A LOT. I really, really apologize for this one. Again in a sarcastic tone I said "That's sad, I didn't know Escapade was such a rude, KSing guild". Note that I said this before the guy came and I also said that I was going to send an SS to the guild leader. This was true, and not intended to be sarcastic in any way.

Also: I just noticed that this happened BEFORE the first screen shot. Sorry about that.

*Sigh*... this is making me more sad as we go along. But, here is the third screen shot.

Key points: "Didn't you try and KS me 1ns?" <--- I have NEVER, EVER, KSed ANYONE before in my life. This is the part where "EmoReviver" seems to acknowledge that it's a misunderstanding, and where I say that I would never go back in and try to take the map that is now hers. Also, this is where he says "GTFO. GTFO go away. Die" As you can see, the text is rolled up to its maximum. The words that they said after are in the final screen shot, and they include the insult that "HuntStars" was saying at the exact moment I took the SS. Finally, "EmoReviver" says here that he could be there all day, though this doesn't bother me, and isn't worth noting, but I don't know, I just feel it needs to be included.

Things I did wrong in this screen shot: Nothing that I can see. Maybe I sounded harsh when I said I wouldn't change channels? I don't know. I guess they were just venting, which I can understand. (I'm kinda venting now)

Ehh... I'm tired now and I have a HUGE headache. But I have to do this. Even though no one has looked at this yet. :) (That was me trying to smile but failing)

Key points: First up, the insults. "HuntStars" says that he is now friends with "EmoReviver", but not me. I don't see how that was funny, but I guess it was to them? Next, "HuntStars" says that Trinity is a girls name. I've only heard of one person named Trinity in my life, and of course she is a girl. But that's my IGN. For everyones' information, its based off of the HOLY TRINITY, as in Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. It's not my name. My name is Cary. I go by Matti in game. I actually don't like it (But don't mind) when people in the guild call me "Trinity". Next, this is the part of the story where "EmoReviver" states that he has blacklisted me on his guild's BBS. This is the reason why I am so upset, this is the reason why I am writing all of this. This is why this needs to be settled. This is what could do the permanent damage to our guild. Finally, at the very end, is the part where "EmoReviver" finally talks nicely, and where I leave the Haunted House to go to the FM (The site of this screen shot).

Things that I did wrong in this screen shot: Nothing that I can see. I was AFK for most of it and the rest of it is me trying to explain what happened.

Don't worry too much about it. Everything will be fine. That's one thing I can promise you. It's not a huge deal. So some random not-so-nice people threw some words at you. You know the truth, and that's what matters, is it not? Maybe they know the truth as well and only misinterpreted it. I don't know.

It's just the internet, though. They're a bunch of people you most likely won't be seeing or hearing from again. Forget about them. You'll be a far better person to forgive, even if you don't necessarily forget, than you would to beat yourself up over it.

Here's a little bit of a tip I got from a wise person a while back: you control yourself. If you want to be happy, then be happy. No one can control your emotions or feelings and make you feel a certain way. Only you can. Don't let the small things bother you, but don't disregard them completely. I've used this in countless situations, and it helps me immensely.

Bottom line: don't let this bother you. What's done is done and cannot be undone, and you should not continue to agonize over something completely and utterly unchangeable. You'll only feel worse if you do. So feel better instead! =D

Lol the Emo guy name is Sean, hes used to be my buddy which I dont know why. Hes used to be in Dedication and last run with them, I helped and he got helmed. Dont worry about KSing part, they will forget you soon. If they come and KS you again, let me know. My Shadower can KS any 4th jobber at Hoodoo included Bishop and Archmage. However I can talk with them without getting into KS war. Most ppl just threaten to scare you cuz they are jerks, however dont be too worried. If I log on today, I will talk to Sean. He doesnt like the fact that I removed him, but I still think I can talk to him.

She responded to you as soon as you arrived. I think she had right to the channel but was wrong for not saying anything.

This kind of thing happens to me at newties alot. I'l go to a channel and see some people sitting down doing nothing. As soon as I get up there they start training again.

Yesterday however I went up to start training and there was a couple sitting next to eachother. I stood next to them and started attacking the newties. About 2 or 3 minutes later they suddenly ask me to CC. Surprized i told them they were afk.. They said they wern't and were talking in buddy chat, then they told me that they were going to train in 15 minutes. They also said they were surprized at me stealing their channel being an Aeons member and all.

I compleatly feel I had the channel cause i saw nothing to indicate they were not afk. No faces no items on the ground nothing. As it was I was in ch13 the where i logged in and there were hardly anyone at newties at the moment so I cced and found another channel on the 2nd try.

I'm compleatly surprized the person stalked you and waited while you were afk... I'd love someone to do that to me and then just get up and go work a 9 hour shift ha ha.

Yeah, I forgot to tell you that, Neal is right. To prevent this happen again, if you just enter a map and someone says CC plz cuz this is my map, chances are they are right. Just CC.

After getting helm, Sean becomes a jerk and he left Dedication. He even tried to KS Chris ( guildmaster of Mint).
