Disgaea DS

NIS America recently announced that Disgaea Afternoon of darkness, the PSP remastered version of the original Disgaea, would soon be released on the Nintendo DS. The DS version will include all the extras from Afternoon of darkness, as well as simplified menus, touch-screen usage and bonus characters, such as the the iconic Pleinair.

I'm really looking forward to this game, even though I owned the PS version. The extra mode and bosses are more than enough, but the inclusion of Pleinair makes it insane. *Hugs Pleinair*. I can tell you honestly, Disgaea is a really fun game, so if you never had a chance to buy the original PS or PSP version, and own a DS, get this game. It's the funniest TBS game of all time.

I know that in AOD, Zetta and Pram make a cameo appearance, but "rumor" is Zetta is finaly playable. If so, it's about dang time!! He's the most powerful Overlord in the universe, and he's been nothing but a semi-weak boss since Makai Kingdom. I wanna see that attitude that I fell in love with in Makai Kingdom, alone with his insane power (150% in all stats and maximum movement and throw). Crispin Freeman is the only person that deserves to be his voice actor. He does powermad and totally phycotic better than any VA I've ever heard. (Sakaki from .hack GU, Albedo from Xenosaga and of course Zetta are just the tip of the iceburge).

Hmm...I read about Disgaea once...but just once...never played or seen it being played, and I haven't even heard the name in over a year...but with your recommendation, I may check it out...although I've never been a fan of TBS games...except FFT: Advanced.

Disgaea is not your average TBS RPG game. It goes by the motto "If it ain't broke, use the biggest Freaken explosive you can find and blow the living *Bleep* outta it!" As far as any game is concerned, the moves are so overblown it's funny. Oh, see that row of enemies over there? Well, let's just jump in the air, grow our sword to the size of a skyscraper and blow up the entire battlefield, or throw it into the sun. OH! Better yet, let's throw our explosive penguins at them and make them go dead.

On Makai Kingdom my save file had nearly 200 hours on it, and my incomplete Disgaea file had 250 hours, and that's the original PS version. If you add in all the new stuff in AOD plus what's to come with the DS version, it's well worth the price tag, but expect to recharge your DS about 50+ times before you finish everything.

So after some research it seems the games with be called Disgaea : Prince of the Demon World and the Red Moon in Japan.

The name will most likly be shortened for the American release. I'd post the Japan magazine advertisment, but I'm too tired to find it at the moment.

Well, Zetta is confirmed playable, but he's in his stupid book form. I guess that's better than nothing, but not nearly as good as it should be.
